The Middle Eats is a simple website. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies, and we do not sell personal information.
What stays on your device
When you press Save on a story, the link is kept in your own browser’s local storage so you can find it again in search. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Newsletter
If you sign up for The Middle Eats Weekly, we use your email address only to send the newsletter, and every issue will include a way to unsubscribe.
Third-party services
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard server logs to deliver pages securely. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and the map uses tiles from OpenStreetMap; these services receive the technical information any website request includes, such as your IP address.
